Unlocking Your Inner Magic: My Wellness Approach as a Psychospiritual Health Coach

I thought it was essential to have a blog post dedicated to Psychospiritual Wellness so you can better understand my approach in all my articles, programs, and resources.

If I am being honest, it actually took me YEARS to bring myself to use this term. I first feared it was too "woo-woo" and would not resonate for some. (Looking back, it is a little ridiculous because I want to attract the right people to my work…so those people would embrace that side a bit!) Then, I completely forgot about the term and spent a long time trying to summarize what kind of coach I truly am. I finally concluded that Psychospiritual Coach was the phrase to describe myself to the world. Letting go of what anyone else would think, I know what my soul is called to do, and that is to help you learn what your soul is being guided toward so you can be the best version of yourself, for yourself, and for your family.

What is Psychospiritual Wellness?

Psychospiritual wellness is a holistic approach that integrates psychological and spiritual practices to nurture a sense of wholeness and well-being. It recognizes that we are multifaceted beings with physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions and aims to address and harmonize these aspects to promote overall wellness and fulfillment.

Embracing Imperfection: A Realistic Approach

Now, let's keep it real—life isn't a perfectly curated Instagram feed, and the way I approach things isn't about creating an illusion of perfection. It's about embracing your imperfections, honoring your struggles, and turning them into stepping stones toward growth and healing. Whether you're battling stress, juggling a million tasks, or just feeling a bit lost in the chaos, it's part of us just being human.

Practices of Psychospiritual Wellness

NOURISHING THE BODY

For me, holistic healing isn't about strict diets or punishing workout routines (although if that's your jam, more power to you!). It's about finding joy in nourishing your body with wholesome foods, engaging in physical activity that brings you pleasure, and prioritizing rest and relaxation.

I don't adhere to one diet standard for everyone, nor is one type of exercise best suited for all. I am tired as HELL of seeing influencers all over the place saying, you have to do this, or if you do that, you are doing something bad or wrong. There is NO such thing as bad or wrong-there are just things that are better for us. And this will always be very individual.

When you see me talk about different wellness plans, specifically when it comes to nutrition, I keep it simple and realistic for all. That does not mean everything I will share on the topic is RIGHT for YOU. In all of my writing and resources, I make it as universal as possible and then teach/guide you how to apply these educational reflections to your own experiences, use your intuition to determine what is best, and then support you as you test out various practices.

A lot of nourishing ourselves is trial and error until we find what works best for us. What brings me relaxation and reduces stress could potentially do the opposite for you! So, a HUGE part of holistic healing is getting super honest with yourself so you can truly nourish your being the way it needs to be.

Which brings me to the next section-

CULTIVATING MINDFULNESS & SELF-REFLECTION

Self-reflection is another essential component of our psychospiritual wellness. It encourages you to explore your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions with curiosity and compassion.

Journaling, reflective writing prompts, and engaging in meaningful conversations with trusted individuals can facilitate this process of self-discovery and growth.

Another central aspect of psychospiritual wellness is the practice of mindfulness—being fully present in the moment with acceptance and nonjudgment. Through various mindfulness practices, such as meditation, EFT (emotional freedom technique), deep breathing exercises, and mindful-spiritually connected movements like Qi-Gong (my current fave!) or yoga, you can cultivate greater awareness, reduce stress, and enhance emotional resilience.

Both of these practices, especially when combined, can provide a deeper connection to God (aka the Divine) and our spirit and allow us to be fully receptive to what our soul calls us toward.

CONNECTING WITH YOUR SPIRITUALITY

Spirituality is ESSENTIAL; it is also deeply personal and individual. It encompasses beliefs, values, and practices that provide you with purpose, meaning, and connection to something greater than yourself.

Nurturing your spiritual well-being can offer profound insights, comfort, and guidance on your journey, whether through prayer, meditation, rituals, or exploring nature.

I will never tell you that one spiritual/religious practice is more significant than another. However, you will see me cover a wide range of spiritual teachings that I have found helpful since I started my wellness journey well over twenty years ago. Take what works for you, and leave the rest.

SELF-CARE RITUALS FOR TRANSFORMATION

Transformative self-care is not the same as most of what you scroll through on social media (though they do have a place). REAL SELF-CARE means taking the time to cultivate a mindset of self-reflection and doing the real, sometimes exhausting, and ugly inner work to bring yourself to the other side to better cope with the world around you.

Other self-care rituals are also necessary and will vary depending on what YOU enjoy. This is when you take the time to nourish your body, like simple skin and body routines, lymphatic massages, soothing salt baths, music that boosts your mood, your favorite creative hobbies (of which a list could be endless), getting into nature (hiking, walking on a sandy beach), practicing gratitude and having deep self-compassion for when you are going through the hard times are all part of self-care!

EMPOWERMENT THROUGH KNOWLEDGE

I'm a firm believer in the power of knowledge. Understanding how your body, mind, and intuition work together gives you a truly transformative sense of empowerment. With this understanding, you'll be equipped to make informed choices that nurture your well-being and lead to a more vibrant, fulfilling life.

In Summary

Embracing psychospiritual wellness is not merely a practice but a transformative journey that integrates the core aspects of our being—mind, body, and spirit. Through this blog, my aim is to guide you toward embracing your unique path, shedding the weight of societal expectations, and discovering the holistic practices that resonate deeply with you. Whether it's through the art of mindfulness, the personalization of your nutrition, or the exploration of spirituality that feels right, the essence of psychospiritual wellness lies in its capacity to empower and enlighten.

As we continue to explore these themes together, remember that every step taken on this path is a step towards greater self-awareness, acceptance, and living the life you have so deeply desired. So, take what resonates from this and future discussions, and approach each day with the courage to live authentically and the wisdom to nurture every dimension of your well-being.
